To the parents/guardians of East Houma Elementary students:

This letter is to inform you that at last night’s school board meeting, April 10, 2018 the proposal from last year to merge East Houma Elementary with Village East Middle has been approved. This change will be effective for the 2018-2019 school year which begins August 6, 2018. Village East School will now be a Kindergarten to 6th grade school. Students that qualify for Pre-K from East Houma School’s area will attend Honduras Elementary for their Pre-K year only.

Both school’s administrative teams are working hand in hand with our Central Office staff to ensure that the process is as smooth as possible for the start of next school.  As the school year closes, more information will be forthcoming to keep you informed. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at the number above. As always, thank you for your continued support as we continue to strive for excellence.
